This Thursday, December 22nd, we will be having a school-wide pajama day. Have your child wear cozy pajamas to school and join the fun! Friday, December 23rd, is Fun and/or Festive Hat Day. Find your favorite winter hat or festive hat for this fun day! Happy Holidays!

This Wednesday, December 14th (Half Day), is another day set aside for conferences. Students in grades 3-5 will be dismissed at 11:35 and students in K-2 will be dismissed at 11:40. Webster After School Programs will NOT take place. The YMCA at Webster will be in session.

The 1st marking period report cards will be live on Home Access Center the afternoon of December 8th.

Wednesday, December 7th is a half-day of school. Students in grades 3-5 will be dismissed at 11:35. Students in grades K-2 will be dismissed at 11:40. There will be NO Webster run after school programs. The YMCA is open. The Pre-School Learning Center is open.

In keeping with the holiday spirit of caring and giving to others, Webster is holding its annual Coat and Gift Drive from Monday, November 28th to Friday, December 9th. Please click the image below for information about the Coat and Gift Drive.

Please make note of the important dismissal changes for this week. Piano Lessons on Monday, November 21st are CANCELED. All students in that program will be dismissed at 3:10. Dismissal on Wednesday, November 23rd is at 11:05 for students in grades 3-5 and at 11:10 for students in grades K-2. There are NO after-school programs taking place on Wednesday, November 23rd at Webster School. All students will be dismissed at 11:05 or 11:10 am. The YMCA at Webster is NOT taking place on Wednesday, November 23rd. The Pre-School Learning Center is CLOSED on Wednesday, November 23rd. If your child attends the YMCA at Weyman Avenue, that program is OPEN. Your child will take the M2 to Weyman Avenue.

Join us for the Board of Education meeting tonight. The Audit Committee will meet in Executive Session at 6 p.m., and the BOE anticipates convening its public meeting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be at the Daniel Webster Elementary School auditorium and can be viewed on Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/91890256959. Our school will be joining the Ruby Bridges Foundation in the effort to end racism and all forms of bullying by participating in Walk to School Day. On Monday, November 14th, We are encouraging students to walk to school. Recognizing that students take buses or are driven to school from a distance, we are organizing walking opportunities for our students throughout the day. During recess, children are going to be encouraged to walk at least one lap around the perimeter of our playground. During the school day, teachers will be walking with their students around our school property. In classrooms, students and teachers will be learning about Ruby Bridges' story. On a bulletin board, our school community will post their messages about how to end racism and bullying, and how to make a difference in our world!

Webster School After School Program - Session 1 Reminder

Tuesday, November 8th is a half day of school. Webster students will be dismissed as follows: K-2 at 11:10 3-5 at 11:05

Picture Day LORS Photography will be at Webster School on Wednesday, November 9th, and Thursday, November 10th. After pictures have been taken, you will be able to view your child's photos online. The link to the LORS Photography website is below. Webster's login code is located on the paper order forms and email from the school. This information will be re-sent after Picture Day. At Webster, we are committed to helping others in our school community and throughout New Rochelle. Please consider donating to our Thanksgiving Food Drive. The Webster Pumpkin Blaze is set for Friday, October 28th. Pumpkins can be dropped off at Webster on Calhoun Avenue between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Stop by to view pumpkins between 6:30 and 8:30 pm. Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this and getting us all into the Halloween Spirit.

On Thursday, October 13th at 8:45 am, third grade parents are invited to join me for Coffee and Conversation in Webster's library. Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th. Teachers have been using a variety of resources, including videos, books, and activities to teach students about the significant contributions made by Latinos. This year's theme is Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation. Throughout the year, we will continue to focus on creating an inclusive school community that recognizes each member for their individuality and for the contributions they make to making us a stronger school! Our studies during Hispanic Heritage Month extend past our general classrooms and into our special area classes (art, music and library). In the art room, second grade Webster artists learned about the village of Teotitlan del Valle's weaving traditions of the Zapotec Rug. The weavings were made with either wool or cotton on looms, and traditional geometric patterns were used as designs in the rugs. Student artists created their own versions of these rugs using paint, oil pastels, and yarn.

If you have costumes that no longer fit your child/children, please consider donating them to our school. Donations will be accepted from October 11th to October 14th. After costumes have been organized by size, they will be displayed for students to select from on October 17th to October 21st.
