Happy Veterans Day! Jefferson Elementary School thanked and celebrated veteran James Benge, who Principal Kim Nieves says is an awesome head custodian! Mr. Benge is a New Rochelle High School graduate and has worked for the school district for more than 31 years! Shortly after high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He traveled the world, was stationed in North Carolina and California, performed duty on the USS Midway aircraft carrier, in the infantry, and more. A salute to Mr. Benge and all veterans serving the school district, and our community, for their unwavering courage and sacrifice for our country.
